The Alberta Heritage Digitization Project has placed The Gleichen Call: A History of Gleichen and Surrounding Areas, 1877 to 1968 online. The publication covers Gleichen’s historical developments, from its founding and naming through to 1968. The digital version is completely searchable, so one can easily find references to historical people, places, and events.

To celebrate Alberta’s Centennial, Gleichen will be holding its Homecoming Celebration on August 26-27. The Homecoming Celebration will coincide with the 4th Annual Gleichen Rodeo and the Gleichen and District Fall Fair. There will be a pancake breakfast, BBQ supper, and a dance on Saturday, the 27th. Don’t miss out. Everyone welcome.
Since launching on February 15, 2005, more than 10,000 unique visitors from 97 different countries have toured Gleichen’s website. Thank you to everyone who has used the site and continues to do so. Thank you also to the CSS Vault for featuring http://www.gleichenalberta.ca in February.
