Community Association
The Gleichen Community Association is charged with the operation and maintenance of the Community Hall, which is located at 204 3rd Avenue. The Association is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization. It relies on hall rentals, fundraising events, charitable donations and the hard work of volunteers.
The Community Association holds several fundraising events each year:
- Pub Night/Dart Tournament
- Oktoberfest
- St. Patty’s Community Fundraiser
- Jam Sessions
- Robert Burns Dinner
- (And more)
The income generated from the above events enable the Association to sponsor community fun events:
- Canada Day Celebrations
- Gleichen’s Got Talent (new in 2009)
- Children’s Christmas Party
- Easter Egg Hunt (in partnership with Gleichen Kid’s Club)
On August 22 2009, for the first time in many years, Gleichen will hold a parade and bed races. Several community groups are participating in the planning and execution of these activities. Keep your eyes on the News and Upcoming Events pages of this website for further details.
Like all other non-profit organizations, the Gleichen & District Community Association could not function without a solid volunteer base, and the support of local business. For more information about the Association, please contact us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
