Gleichen and District Library
Run by the the Gleichen and District Library Society, the Gleichen Public Library is open two days a week and is located at 404 Main St. In addition to a vast array of contemporary and classical authors, reference materials, and a great children’s collection, the library also carries videos, has internet access, and offers fax services. Library membership is open to anyone in the Gleichen-Cluny area.
Each year, the Library Society put out a community calendar as its major fundraising activity. As well, the library gladly accepts book donations. The library manager is Faydra Burne.
Marigold Library System
Gleichen is also part of the Marigold Library System, which gives Marigold library cardholders access to Marigold databases and catalogues. These databases contain newspaper and magazine articles, encyclopedias, consumer reports, health information, radio and TV transcripts, maps, French language materials, digitized historical documents and photos, almanacs and dictionaries, recipes and restaurant reviews, and much, much more.
